It did not take long before he realized that the Lord had a call on his young life. Three months later, Robert found himself in South Florida, home to one of the largest Jewish communities in America. This was far more than a coincidence. The Lord had a plan! In the summer of 2004, two young men came into Robert’s life. One was a strong Christian who was overflowing with excitement about his newfound appreciation for the Jewish roots of his faith. The other was an Orthodox Jew who had come to the realization that Jesus was his Messiah. As Robert spent more time with each of these young men, the Lord’s plan began to unfold. Looking back, Robert reflects, “I can see now that the Lord was showing me the fruits of a ministry that would eventually become my life’s pursuit...bringing the Gospel of Jesus to the Jewish people, and sharing the Jewish roots of our beautiful faith with Christians.” Robert began attending Beth Sar Shalom, a congregation planted by Chosen People Ministries. It was here that his relationship with the Mission began, as well as his relationship with Joanna. Seeking to dig deeper into God’s Word, Robert enrolled into the ministry program at Palm Beach Atlantic University. He graduated first in his class as well as Summa Cum Laude in December 2006. Joanna also attended the University and she too graduated May 2007 as “The Outstanding Student for Biblical Studies.” In January of 2007 they were both accepted on staff with Chosen People Ministries and in March, 2007 they were married. Robert and Joanna are currently serving in the New York City area. They have both served with the Ministry’s short term missions programs in Israel and New York in addition to their involvement in Beth Sar Shalom Congregation. They understand that their future is in God’s hands, and they have devoted the rest of their lives to serving Him. Robert is currently attending seminary. They have one daughter, Elisheva, born November 10, 2008, and hope to have more children in the years to come. As Gentile believers called to Jewish ministry, they have a great burden to share with churches the desperate need for Jewish evangelism, teaching the Bible from its Hebrew roots, and sharing their passion to see Romans 1:16 fulfilled.
