Endorsements for Chosen People Ministries:

Dear Pastor,

The purpose of this letter is simply to commend to you the work of Chosen People Ministries. This New York-based mission to the Jewish people has been spectacularly used of God across the years. Dr. Mitch Glaser, who is a wonderful leader, has taught profoundly the Hebrew Scriptures. Those who work alongside him are equally blessed of God. If you are looking for an opportunity to emphasize this important aspect of the biblical mandate "to the Jew first," I cannot recommend any group that will leave your church in better shape and more in missionary readiness than this group. God bless you as you pray for Israel.

Dear Pastor or Lay Leader,

It has been my privilege to see and work closely with the ministry of Chosen People. God has granted to that work the gifts of Mitch Glaser as Director. His bold initiatives for the Gospel of Jesus Christ have been evident in the successful "Isaiah 53" Campaign in New York City, Los Angles, and now in Israel.

I encourage you to receive Mitch and/or the ministry in any and every way you can, for these must be the days of the Jewish harvest that the Apostle Paul spoke of in Romans 9-11. It is too late to argue academically if the Lord will not restore Israel back in her land before he returns a second time. What shall we say about the 6 million Jewish people now back in the land of Israel already?  This is approaching one half of the total Jewish population. Surely that is a sign for all of God's people to wake up and smell the coffee, for our Lord will soon climax history by fulfilling his promise that he gave to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and David.

God bless you as you are lead by the Holy Spirit to invest your prayers and resources in what God had announced as his plan of action ever since the days of the Biblical patriarchs. While others, especially the Millennial generation, has decided to abandon their support of Israel, careful readers of the word of God are still cognizant of the blessing God has promised on those who bless Israel (Genesis 12:2-3).

Thank you for welcoming Chosen People and its ministries to your fellowship.

Cordially in Our Lord's Service with You,

I have served on the board of Chosen People Ministries for well over a decade. I know their work and how it can energize a church not only for evangelism to Jewish people but also for outreach in general. Many people are intimidated to share their faith, especially with someone whose faith may be quite different from their own. The opportunity to have representatives of Chosen People to preach at your church not only provides a nice change of pace but also will provide a unique opportunity for people to ask questions about how to share Jesus (or Yeshua) with their Jewish neighbors. These representatives are also well informed about circumstances in the Middle East. So I'd love to commend this ministry to you and encourage you to consider inviting them to fill your pulpit or Sunday school program. I am confident they will encourage your members that they can share Christ effectively with their neighbors.

Dear Pastor,

I am writing to encourage you to prayerfully consider inviting a representative of Chosen People Ministries to speak to your congregation at prophecy conferences and/or pastors' conferences, on God's love for Israel and the Jewish people, and the importance of training, equipping and mobilizing evangelicals to share the Gospel in a compelling way with Jewish people.

I have worked on numerous conferences and Jewish evangelism projects with Chosen People Ministries over the years, and I have seen the Lord use this ministry to effectively touch the hearts of leaders and lay people with the Biblical case for reaching the Jewish people with the love of our Lord.

We believe we are heading towards a "Romans 11:26 world" in which "all Israel will be saved." Chosen People Ministries continues to proclaim the Good News through Jesus the Messiah to Jewish people around the world.

My hope is that you'll invite them to come and invest some time with you and the sheep under your care. I believe you will see good fruit as a result.

Thanks so much, and please let me know if you have any questions.

In Christ Jesus,

Joel C. Rosenberg

Dear Pastor,

When I endorse a ministry I follow a couple of simple criteria:

1. I have to have had experience working with the leadership of the ministry.

2. The ministry must lead with integrity, and with a commitment to excellence to the glory of God through our Lord, Jesus Christ.

With those criteria in mind, I can recommend Chosen People Ministries with all my heart. I have known CPM president, Mitch Glaser, for many years. He continues to lead CPM with a deep commitment to, and love for the Lord Jesus, and for all the children of Abraham. His compassion and patience have proven themselves time and again. I have seen his love in action under trying circumstances – he is bold, but gentle.

His courage in sharing his faith in the Lord Jesus is eclipsed only by his love for his Savior. Mitch inspires his board of directors and the staff at CPM with a living example of what it means to be a servant of Christ. If you are interested in broadening the scope of your vision for the Jewish people, you cannot do better than to invest your time and resources in supporting Chosen People Ministries and their president, Dr. Mitch Glaser.

It is my privilege and pleasure to commend Chosen People Ministries for your consideration. Chosen People is absolutely committed to reaching the Jewish people with the gospel of Yeshua Hammashiach, both here at home and throughout the world. Whether it's sharing the good news on the streets of New York, showing the Savior's love to aging Holocaust survivors living in Israel, or preparing young men and women at the Feinberg Center to proclaim the gospel clearly to Jewish people everywhere, Chosen People is engaged in strategic ministry.

Over the past three years I have worked closely with Chosen People and its president, Dr. Mitch Glaser, on several projects. I have been particularly impressed with the integrity of Mitch and his staff. They are fueled by a genuine love for the Jewish people. This passion drives the ministry and underlies every decision that is made.

I have also been impressed by Chosen People's commitment to excellence and to doing the work of the ministry in a way that honors our Lord and Savior. They care about sound biblical interpretation, as well as theological accuracy and depth. Recently Mitch brought together a group of evangelical scholars for two timely conferences, one focusing on the gospel message of Isaiah 53 and the other on the future of the Jewish people. Both conferences yielded quality books that will help those engaged in Jewish evangelism. The most recent volume. entitled The People, the Land, and the Future of Israel, is particularly important at a time when more and more evangelicals are advocating so-called "replacement theology” and rejecting the dispensational tradition that Dallas Theological Seminary has taught and proclaimed over the past 90 years.

We are living in momentous, dangerous times. Chosen People Ministries is facing the challenge, right out there on the frontlines. You can trust Mitch and his team. They have a passion to proclaim the gospel, especially to the Jew first, and they do that with integrity and excellence. I am honored to be part of their team.

Chosen People Ministries exists to pray for, evangelize, disciple, and serve Jewish people everywhere and to help fellow believers do the same. The mission was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1894 by Rabbi Leopold Cohn, a Hungarian Jewish immigrant with a zeal to share the knowledge of Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah with God's chosen people.

Today, Chosen People Ministries serves in sixteen countries across the globe. Our outreach programs include evangelism and discipleship, Messianic Centers and congregations, equipping the local church for Jewish evangelism, print and web publications, and benevolence work. With your help, we will continue proclaiming the Good News through Jesus the Messiah to Jewish people around the world.

Our Vision and Core Values

Chosen People Ministries...

  • Exists to glorify God, proclaim the Gospel to the Jew first and also to the Gentile, and develop resources and programs to accomplish this task.
  • Places the worker above the work.
  • Is concerned with and promotes the welfare of the Jewish community.
  • Is a Board-governed organization whose ministry is planned and implemented by missionaries and supported by the administrative staff.
  • Is dependent on God's provision for the Mission through the prayer and financial support of fellow believers.

In the latter part of the 19th century people were on the move, for many different reasons. Political and social upheavals in Europe continued throughout the turn of the century. This turmoil generated an intense longing, both for material stability and religious freedom.

It was during this time of tremendous change that a man was born in Berezna, a small town in eastern Hungary, whose life would become interwoven with these people on the move. The Orthodox Jewish community of Berezna was the birthplace of Leopold Cohn, who was destined for a momentous quest. In this part of Europe, Orthodox Judaism was a way of life. Traditional Judaism was all-pervasive in its impact on a daily existence and there was zeal for the Torah (Law). It was not surprising, then, that Leopold Cohn became a rabbi.

A Rabbi's Quest

It was during his years of rabbinic study that certain portions of Scripture led Leopold Cohn to seek more knowledge about the Messiah. He searched the Scriptures and questioned other rabbis, but still found no satisfactory answers. One rabbi even advised him to go to America where, he said, people knew more about the Messiah. Strange advice, it would seem, yet this noted rabbi said he would lose his position if he were to discuss the Messiah. Later, Leopold Cohn recalled this incident and felt that the rabbi knew something about the Messiah, Jesus.

Real Jewish Faith

Cohn knew that there was but one course for him to follow: he must share the knowledge of the Messiah, Yeshua, with his Jewish people. He explained an early encounter with members of the local community: "I showed them from the Scriptures that to believe in Yeshua was Jewish faith, real Jewish faith." This became Leopold Cohn's life calling. It also became a guiding principle for our ministry, which he founded in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, New York, in 1894.

Chosen People Ministries

To the Jew First

Leopold Cohn began this ministry by holding meetings in a store which was a renovated horse stable. He founded his work upon faith, in response to the Scriptural exhortation of Romans 1:16, "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." The ministry's first Bible meeting was attended by eight Jewish people. The Lord continued to bless this work, and in the course of his lifetime, Leopold Cohn led over 1,000 people to the Lord.

A Family Ministry

Responsible Jewish evangelism has characterized Chosen People Ministries from its inception. Over the years, different aspects of our ministry's outreach have continued and expanded. The early work was a real family ministry. Mothers would come to the mission to participate in women's activities. They would also bring their children, who took part in the different programs. These programs in turn resulted in fathers coming to the mission. Through the dedicated work of early workers, many individuals and entire families came to believe in Jesus. There are many Jewish Christian family trees whose spiritual roots began through the outreach of Chosen People Ministries. Several of them, including some of our own staff, are in full-time service for the Lord.

Chosen People Ministries exists to pray for, evangelize, disciple, and serve Jewish people everywhere and to help fellow believers do the same. The Chosen People Ministries' Doctrinal Statement affirms our commitment to the essence of historic, evangelical faith and our core theological emphases when it comes to Jewish evangelism.

We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Bible, which is therefore inerrant and infallible in the original autographs. We believe in the sole authority of the sixty-six books of the Bible. (Ps 107:11; 119:160: Mark 7:6-13; John 10:35; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; Heb 1:1-3; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

We believe that there is one infinite and perfect God (Deut 6:4; Lev 19:2; Deut 33:27; Isa 6:1-3; 40:28-31; Acts 17:24; Ps. 90:2), eternally existing in three distinct and equal persons-the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each possesses the characteristics of personality as well as the nature and perfections of deity. (Matt 28:19-20; John 1:1-3; 15:26; 16:12-15; Col. 1:15-20; Heb 1:1-4).

We believe that God is sovereign and created all things for his glory. (Gen 1-2; Job 38-41; Ps. 19:1-4; Isa 37:16; Jer. 10: 11-12; Rom 4:17; Heb 11:3)

We believe that God created Adam and Eve in His image and likeness (Gen 1-2). Through Adam's sin, all people are born guilty before God with a nature in rebellion against him (Gen 3; Rom 3:10-18, 23; 5:12-21; Eph 2:1-3).

We believe that God made an everlasting and irrevocable covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Gen 12:1-3; 15:9-21; 17:1-8). It includes the unconditional election of Israel as God's chosen people, the gift of the land of Israel, and the promise of the Messiah through whom all the families of the earth will be blessed (2 Sam 7:6-16; Jer 31:23-40; Romans 9-11; Gal 3:6-4:7).

We believe that God the Son preexisted as the eternal Word, took on human nature, and was known as Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah (John 1:1-18). We believe in His full deity (Is 9:6-7; John 10:30; 20:28; Acts 2:14-36; Col. 2:9), His virgin conception (Isa 7:14; Matt 1:18:25; Lk 1:34-35), His full humanity (Heb 2:14-18; 4:15), and His sinless life (2 Cor 5:21; Heb 4:15; 7:26; 1 Pet 2:22 [Isa 53:9]).

We believe Jesus the Messiah revealed the mind of God (Deut 18:15; Acts 3:22-24; Matt 13:57; John 1:18; Heb 1:1-4), offered Himself once and for all as the only atoning, substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of humanity (Heb 4:4:14-5:10; 7:1-3; 9:6-10:18; 1 John 2:2; Rev 1:5), and continues to intercede for His people (Rom 8:34; Heb 7:25; 9:24). As the risen Messiah, He exercises divine authority from God's right hand and will return to reign (2 Sam 7:12-16; Matt 2:1-11; Luke 1:32-33; Acts 2:30-36).

We believe in the full deity and personality of the Holy Spirit (Matt 28:19; Acts 5:3-4; Eph 4:30). He bears witness to Yeshua through the Word of God (John 14:25-27; 16;13; 1 Cor 2:10-11). He convicts (John 16:7-11), regenerates individuals (John 3:3-5), and baptizes them into the Body of Messiah (1 Cor 6:11; 12:13; Titus 3:5). He indwells, fills, guides, helps, gifts, and produces in believers the fruit of the Spirit (John 14:15-21; 1 Cor 6:19; Eph 1:13-14; 5:18). We believe that no particular gift is given to every believer (Rom 12:6-8; 1 Cor 12: 1-31; Eph 4:11).

We believe that salvation for both Jews and Gentiles is available only through Jesus and His finished work (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). This salvation is a gift from God, received through faith alone and not by works (John 10:28-30; Rom 8:28-30; Eph 2:8-9; Rom 3;21-4:25; Heb 13:5). True believers in Messiah are sealed by the Spirit for the day of redemption (Eph 1:13-14).

We believe that the Church is comprised of both Jews and Gentiles who have accepted Jesus as the promised deliverer (Eph 2:11-3:6). Gentiles who have come to faith in Messiah Jesus are fellow heirs in the kingdom of God with Jewish believers (Eph 3:6; Gal 3:1-4:6). This belief in the universal body of Messiah encourages both Jews and Gentiles to live together in unity (Acts 14:23; 15:24-28; Rom 14:1-15:21; Col. 2:16-23; Heb 10:24-25). We also affirm the right of individual congregations to express their cultural diversity and the importance of Gentiles reaching out to Jewish people in evangelism as part of their call from God (I Cor 9:20-21).

We believe that Messiah will return to earth to reign from Israel over the millennial kingdom (Dan 9:27; Matt 24:29-31; Mark 13:24-27; Luke 21:25-27; 1 Thess 1:10; 2 Thess 2; Rev 20:1-6). When all His enemies are put under his feet, He will hand over the Kingdom to the Father (1 Cor 15:20-28).

We believe that the final state of those who have trusted in Messiah will be eternal bliss in the presence of God. We believe that the eternal state of those who have not trusted in Messiah will be one of conscious suffering in hell. (Matt 25:46; John 3:36; 2 Thess 1:8-9; 2 Pet 3:13; Rev 14:11; 20:11-15; 21:1-22:6).

Mitch Glaser

One of the challenges that the Jewish people have faced over the centuries is how to preserve our heritage while looking to the future. This may also sum up the goal of Chosen People Ministries. Although when compared to Jewish history, our more than 100-year-old existence seems a mere drop in the bucket of eternity, we must also look ahead - even as we act as responsible stewards of our traditions.

Fortunately, God has blessed us with a dedicated Board, a staff of seasoned servants of Messiah and a contingent of young people, who add tremendous vitality and vision through which the entire Mission is energized. It seems that the Lord is honoring our commitment because our work is expanding at a rapid pace. We are finding that Jewish people across the globe are becoming more and more receptive to the Gospel as the Lord opens their hearts and minds to the life-giving message of Jesus the Messiah.

Our present growth is built upon the strong foundation established by the founders of Chosen People Ministries. In 1892, Rabbi Leopold Cohn, a recent immigrant to New York City from Hungary, was walking on the Lower East Side of Manhattan among thousands of other new Jewish immigrants when he heard a Jewish preacher proclaiming the Gospel in the Yiddish language. Rabbi Cohn stopped to speak with this man and eventually gave his heart to the Messiah. After receiving his theological training and leading his wife, Rose, to the Lord, Rabbi Cohn established the Brownsville Mission to the Jews. From these humble beginnings, Chosen People Ministries now serves the Jewish people all over the world.

I am grateful for our heritage. Yet I also am able to rejoice that in many ways, Chosen People Ministries is now more vital than ever. We have changed some of our means of communication - I like to joke that Rabbi Cohn probably did not have as effective a website as we do today - but in the midst of change and utilizing modern technology, we continue to hold fast to the rabbi's vision of evangelizing and discipling Jewish people worldwide.

Our core doctrinal position has not changed in more than a century. We believe with all our hearts that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that Jesus is the promised Messiah of Israel - and that the simple message of His death and resurrection has the power to transform the lives of Jews and Gentiles.

Our international headquarters is located at 241 East 51st Street, which is within half a mile of the United Nations and the headquarters of dozens of worldwide Jewish organizations. This is most fitting because it is our most fervent prayer to God - as it was the Apostle Paul's - that Israel might be saved and fully realize its calling to be a "light unto the nations."

We have a great heritage and a bright future because God is faithful! With your prayers and partnership, we hope to keep proclaiming the Gospel until we see Him face to face.

For Zion's sake,

Dr. Mitch Glaser
