New Outreach Efforts
Sometimes, God brings along the strangest and most wonderful ministry opportunities: things that only He could have orchestrated. This story is certainly one of those moments:
Recently, the staff was approached by a network of Holocaust survivors living in the northern region of Israel; they asked if we could plan a "Fun Day" for the 150 older people within their group. The wonderful thing is that they initiated this contact even though they knew we were believers in Messiah. Of course we accepted-with surprise and thankfulness.
We took them to the Western Wall and to the Mount of Olives, explaining their Biblical significance. Many had questions when we told them about Jesus the Jewish Messiah, who also walked these very hills and streets to the Temple. We also had a piano concert from one of our staff members and some discussion about our faith in Jesus. As the group left, we gave each person a Bible, a Messianic Magazine, and other literature and souvenirs. Our hope is that some of these dear people will remember not just us but Yeshua, and eventually will come to faith in Him as their Messiah.
Another new and promising place where the Messianic movement is growing is in Israeli universities. One student writes,
I am so excited to have started taking courses at one of the universities, a place where a small but thriving community of Messianic students proudly carries the love of Messiah into the intellectual heart of Israeli life. We just have celebrated the beginning of the school year with a party and a fellowship meeting at the Jerusalem Messianic Center. There were 35 students total and we had a very special time of fellowship with prayer and devotionals. I was really privileged to be there and observe the growing desire of students to carry the light of the Messiah of Israel. Please pray while we study and fellowship and share our lives on the campus.
