Jewish Doctor and Holocaust Survivor

I grew up in a Conservative Jewish home in Germany and don't remember a time that I didn't believe in God or that I didn't pray. My prayers progressed from little childish rhymes to the Shema, and eventually to adding my own prayers after reciting the Shema.

This was very important since I went through the persecution first in Germany, and then in Holland (where we had fled) culminating in spending two years in camps, including a year in Bergen-Belsen.

God answered many of my prayers! After coming to the U.S. in 1947, I was able to go to college and medical school.

Being very thankful to God, I wanted to know how I could please Him and decided to read the Hebrew Scriptures in addition to going to Services regularly on Friday nights.

To my surprise I found many prophecies pointing to Jesus being the Messiah, in whose coming I had always believed. After much study and prayer, I committed my life to Him, and have experienced a peace and joy that goes beyond human understanding.

There is no bitterness in my heart!
