Greg and Inna Zhelezny

Greg Zhelezny was born in the former U.S.S.R., and was raised a convinced atheist. He was raised in the climate of anti-Semitism and Soviet propaganda, which scorned any faith or religion. Yet, when he immigrated to the U.S. in 1989 he was able to discover God. In Italy he made a commitment to Messiah, after watching a movie about Him. Since then his life has been completely transformed. He was able to discover the ancient faith of his fathers and its true fulfillment in Yeshua.

Greg came to New York City in 1990 and immediately began attending a Slavic Church in East Village. He discovered that he had a gift for preaching, and the minister of the church was able to recognize this gift. Greg worked on several exciting mission projects, including working with terminally ill children in a Christian camp in Connecticut, and a summer missions project in Moscow and Israel. Soon after that Greg became involved with Jewish mission work under the guidance of Mitch Glaser. With his help Hope of Israel congregation was born in 1993. In the same year Greg married his long time girlfriend, Inna.

During the years of pastoral work, which followed, Greg experienced many joys and challenges that come from that work. He was able to minister to many people, including through radio and TV. Many people became saved and were discipled through his teaching and preaching ministry. After 13 years he recognized that God was leading him to continue the mission work to the Jewish people. That is why Greg became a missionary with Chosen People.

Greg, his wife Inna and their two sons Vladimir and Gregory are now traveling full time, raising support. Greg has two radio shows weekly and he is currently producing a series of TV programs geared towards those who do not yet believe. He is well known in the Russian-speaking Jewish community, and he is in the unique position to bring the gospel to this group of people.
