Andrew and Lavanya Yelchuri
Serving in Goa, India
Andrew and Lavanya Yelchuri are missionaries to the Jewish people serving with Chosen People Ministries. After their marriage in 2001, they were seeking God in prayer and fasting to know His purpose for their lives. God spoke to them from Ezekiel chapters two and three that He had chosen them to serve the Jewish people, Israel. They were shocked and excited as they had never heard of anyone who was called to the nation of Israel. Their journey to YWAM in India and the Ukraine prepared them for the work that lay ahead of them.
Andrew is the son of a pastor and missionary in India, and Lavanya comes from a Hindu background. They were involved in various ministries until God led them to move from their hometown to a tiny state called Goa in Western India. Goa draws thousands of young Israelis between September and March every year. They have witnessed to many Israelis on the beaches about how much God loves them and wants them to come back to Him through Jesus Christ.
They have had rich witnessing experiences with Israeli backpackers and currently continue to enjoy trusted relationships with most of them. Andrew is currently studying for his Master of Divinity at the Charles L. Feinberg Center for Messianic Jewish Studies in Brooklyn, New York.
Andrew and Lavanya serve as the directors of Chosen People Ministries’ global partner in India. They are currently active in the outreach ministry of Chosen People Ministries in Brooklyn.
