A Declaration of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem
Chosen People Ministries exists in part to pray for and serve Jewish people. We are concerned with and promote the welfare of the Jewish community. In today’s world, as hostility against Israel and the Jewish people continues to rise, the most important tool at our disposal is prayer. Will you join us and thousands of others in making a conscious and deliberate decision to pray for Israel and the Jewish people daily?
I support the decision of our government to relocate the United States Embassy from its current location in Tel Aviv to its rightful location in the capital of Israel, Jerusalem. I recognize both the spiritual and political implications of moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem and affirm the following:
In recent years, many nations have tried to erase Israel’s biblical and historical connection to Jerusalem, attempting to delegitimize Israel and the Jewish people as a nation. I oppose this anti-Israel bias and affirm the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995:
Jerusalem should remain an undivided city in which the rights of every ethnic and religious group are protected…[and] Jerusalem should be recognized as the capital of Israel.
Therefore, I will stand with Israel and support our government’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and to pray for her as encouraged by the psalmist, David:
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you. May peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces.” For the sake of my brothers and my friends, I will now say, “May peace be within you.” For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your good. (Psalm 122:6-9)
