Jon and Tammy Lieberman

Branch Leader
serving in Indianapolis

Jon was raised in a secular Jewish home in Indianapolis. His dad had a strict Orthodox Jewish upbringing in Hartford, Connecticut while Jon’s mom came from a family of prominent Reform Jews in Indianapolis. Though culturally Jewish, celebrating the Jewish Holidays, and regularly attending the Reform Temple (Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation), Jon still never heard any discussion about God or the Bible in the home.

After graduating from Indiana University with a BS in Business Administration in 1970, Jon began a search for truth. His search ended after meeting a minister in Arizona who gave him his first New Testament. Jon began reading it and asked God to show him if Jesus was really who He claimed to be; immediately he had a life-changing encounter with God. He knew that the historical Jesus was alive and present with him in that moment. He learned that the purpose of life was to personally know and love God and make the Messiah known to others.

Jon received an M.A. in Theological Studies from Wheaton Graduate School in 1981. In 1984 he returned to Indiana to reconnect with his dad and brother and work in a family real estate business. He continued this work until April 2010 when he joined the staff of Chosen People Ministries.

For the last 39 years, Jon has shared his testimony and led numerous “Messiah in the Passover” seders in many churches and groups. He has personally witnessed to hundreds of Jewish and Gentile people. He leads a weekly fellowship and study group of Jewish and Gentile intermarried believers.

Now, as a ministry representative for Chosen People Ministries, Jon is involved in strategic Jewish Evangelism outreaches and shares the vision of practical ways Christians can help reach Jewish people for Messiah.

Jon lives in Indianapolis with his wife Tamara who has a background in nursing. They have five children and two grandchildren.
