Our partners in Chicago recently shared Cheryl’s story with us …
In her early thirties, Cheryl (not her real name) had been spiritually searching for a long time. Our partners talked with her about faith and recommended some of the Jewish testimony videos on our site, www.IFoundShalom.com.
As she watched, Cheryl had questions! She was wrestling with whether a Jewish woman could actually be a follower of Jesus. Cheryl went to yeshiva when she was young, where they taught her that the Messiah would come and that she was not allowed to believe in Jesus. But Jesus intrigued her, especially after watching our online videos.
Cheryl heard the gospel again and again. Finally, our ministry staff shared this with her…
“But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God” (Isaiah 59:2). Just like the animals that covered our sins in the Torah, Jesus similarly died and took our sins. If we believe in His death and resurrection, we are forgiven, and that brings us closer to God!
A few minutes later, Cheryl declared, “I believe in Jesus. I believe He died for my sins!”
Pray for Cheryl! Her father is very unhappy about her new faith in Jesus. Pray for their relationship to be restored, for Cheryl to be encouraged in her faith, and that she will grow in Christ.
