From the Frontlines
October 31 and November 1, 2023
Here are some ministry updates directly from staff on the ground. Not all the staff have time to send in their updates, so please pray for the incredible unspoken ministry taking place as well. Please keep the team in prayer as they serve with all their abilities and strength. Please pray for their safety and wholeness.
A Series of Fruitful Ministry
The Lord has done a marvelous work over the past few days. We prepared seventy hot lunches for families spending most of their time in bomb shelters in Ashkelon—for the third week! Volunteers from the local congregation in Ashkelon helped distribute food and had the opportunity to pray with many.
We also had a welcoming Sabbath meeting with refugees from Ashkelon and Sderot. We had a wonderful time together, talking and studying the Scriptures. People are still processing what happened, but we are concerned about what might be ahead, which can potentially lead to post-traumatic depression. In these cases, letting them speak and discuss their anxieties is imperative. By God’s grace, we were able to do so during our Sabbath dinner. We ministered to their emotional needs, we prayed together, and the children were also happy with ice cream and games! A number of people welcomed hugs as they naturally sought to feel safe. Please pray for God’s healing as people deal with difficult emotions.
We also went to Jerusalem to pack and deliver more than eighty gifts for the soldiers and those remaining in the kibbutzim (collective farms) on the border with Gaza. We had another Bible study for people living in our Jerusalem center; about half are believers, but the other half are not. The non-believers asked us to start these lessons, and they are going well!
Collaborative Team Effort with the Holy Spirit
Please pray for our team in Tel Aviv as they embark on some new projects. Pray those details come together, and the volunteers sign up to serve many of the people in the area who are in dire need.
The Tel Aviv Messianic Center will be a hub for packaging nonperishable food items for those with food insecurity, those who have evacuated their homes, and for the elderly Holocaust survivors. Our team in Tel Aviv works closely with the team in Jerusalem as they deliver the food boxes to many living in the South. Through this effort, we can help meet people’s physical needs as we encourage them spiritually.
Please pray this ministry will continue to open doors to the salvation of many. As people come and speak with us, hear our testimonies, and see the light of the Messiah in us, we pray God uses those planted seeds to bring forth interest in Jesus, the Messiah.
Please pray for our staff and leaders’ wisdom, logistics, clarity, and endurance. We look forward to telling the stories and conversations sure to come out of this work.
