A Ukrainian refugee finds hope in Jesus
Raisa* lived in Israel for a few years before returning home to Ukraine many years ago. She had made Messianic Jewish friends in Israel and loved attending our Bible study, even though she never believed Jesus was Messiah.
Then war broke out in Ukraine—driving Raisa from her home. She escaped to Poland and then to Sweden with a group of refugees. There, she struggled day by day, filled with fear and hopelessness. She remembered Vicka, her Bible study leader in Israel, and reached out to her by phone.
Of course, Vicka remembered her and immediately contacted believers in Sweden who found a safe place for her to stay. Raisa was soon settled in, and she looked forward to her weekly telephone call from Vicka, who encouraged her, shared the Scriptures with her, and reminded her of the love of the Jewish Messiah.
Today, Raisa has chosen to follow Jesus!
Thank you for allowing us to be there for her—and so many Ukrainian refugees—in their most difficult moments!

She can finally feel at home
The war brutally broke Sofia’s* life in Ukraine when it began there in 2022. She fled her home becoming a refugee, finally finding safe harbor in Berlin. But despite the safety of being far from the battle front, life as a refugee is uncertain and challenging.
Sofia and many other women and elderly folks in the Ukrainian diaspora are struggling to provide for themselves in a foreign place. They often rely on charity and relief aid, and they frequently worry about loved ones who are still in Ukraine.
But when Sofia found our Messianic congregation in Berlin, she knew she had discovered one place where she could feel peace and a small measure of hope for the future.
“Every time I am come to the congregation, I feel myself at home!” she says happily.
She is among twenty Messianic believers from Ukraine who plugged into the congregation, and this group of refugees dedicate themselves to reach out to others: they are part of language classes with Bible studies, coffee houses with fellowship, a prayer clinic with counseling services, and more.
Your prayers and faithful support make it possible to help Jewish refugees from Ukraine find a place they can call home and a place they can meet the Messiah and find peace. Thank you!

Bear deliveries are back!
The doctors, nurses, families, and especially the young patients at Tel HaShomer Hospital in Israel were thrilled to see the return of Mended Hearts Bears, special teddy bears delivered by Messianic believers Lily* and Ralph.*
Having a plush teddy bear to squeeze grealy lifts the spirits of children recovering from heart surgery and eases fears. This special gift for their child also touches stressed-out families, which comes with an offer of prayer and encouragement.
The pandemic kept our teddy bear team from making these sweet deliveries since 2019, but now they are back, and all involved are happier for it.
Thank you for helping Chosen People Ministries provide these compassionate—and adorable—gifts for children at a scary time. They are a wonderful way to make contact with Jewish families and let them know we are praying for them in Jesus’ name.
We are grateful for you! The support and prayers of friends like you make these stories possible. Because you care and give, Jewish people all over the world are meeting their Messiah. Thank you for being an important part of this effective outreach to Jewish people everywhere.
